OH HELLO, CHRISTMAS.....

"They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is going to spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly"

There's Christmas music on the radio and Christmas lights popping on when the sun goes down and I've been decorating like mad for clients...

This year its all about the ribbon.
This gorgeous gray silk and the white filigree ribbon

and this awesome ribbon that looks like birch bark...

and the wide silver embroidered ribbon that is a statement in itself...

was the inspiration for Vicki's house.

This year we added some outdoor touches

Pat's tree is always red and white... and so I was delighted to find this Merry Christmas ribbon
to top her tree

fun fact:  the little bear on the tricycle ornament was one that I made for her 15 years ago...
it made me smile to see it was still among the ornaments for her tree!

Betty's tree changes every year.  Each year we pick a new ribbon and let it dictate the style for the tree.
This year it was plaid all the way - with berries on top!

The centerpiece changes each year too - this year we were inspired by deep red poinsettias and fragrant evergreen and eucalyptus.  The result was stunning and came together quickly with the greens in oasis surrounding the potted poinsettia.

Another floral creation for Betty - this time in silk, but still so pretty!

I snapped this before I realized we hadn't removed the tag from this fresh pine wreath.  We added more fresh greens to the poinsettia basket.

At Kathleen's house it was all about the ribbons....
This tree looks fabulous even before the ornaments are added!

A tall vase with pine cones and berries sits nearby.
More cute ribbon on the mantle...

and then two quick poinsettia centerpiece arrangements -
 one surrounded by fragrant evergreens...

and one surrounded by glittering giant pine cones and shiny ornaments...

with a few of the leftover greens in a white pitcher and a sweet red velvet bow...

So, that's what has been occupying my time.
Now to start on my house...
Where do I begin????

Halloween and Fall decor tour 2017

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

With my Halloween party behind me, and the littles coming tonight for trick or treat, I decided to post the pictures my friend and photographer of Bleudog Fotography, Shawna Henrie took of the decorations.  This year it was all about the projects....  I was successful in completing a few on my list and it was so fun to take a little time to create...

Although I try to change things up a little each year, these little pumpkin lights are one of my favorite decorations and I do them the same every year.  Each year these happy little jack-o-lanterns light up the front of the house on the climbing roses.

While I may change their look and their position from time to time,
the skeletons are also out front to greet guests each year...
Wire lights are great to bring out the details.
One skeleton at the entrance to the front walkway...

while the second skeleton perches on a big cast iron urn near my front door.

The haunted clock in the center of this rose hip wreath was one of the projects I was able to complete ....

and I managed to pull together a few florals that should carry nicely into Fall and Thanksgiving
(with the removal of the black and white ribbons)

Once you are inside the front door, things get a little crazy....

My favorite thing to decorate each year!

This was another project - and so fun and easy.
I created three of these witch hats for the buffet area.
I found this easy tutorial by Made in a Day, that you can try too...

Kitchens are always hard to decorate seasonally - all hard surfaces and work areas.
I have this spot to line up the little jack o lanterns ....

and the back of the stove top

and then the island....
and the rest is counters and appliances...
(but I did find a spot for Clive...)

Another project ....  one for each side of the fireplace...

The biggest project this year ...

I kept the mantle simple with black painted ivy and felted skulls...

The party was so fun...

Until next year....

Bailey says BOO.
